Maintaining Composure

For every athlete the ability to make quick decisions is crucial. Only the best can keep their composure while under pressure. How he or she reacts under such pressure is what sets them apart from competitor to champion. This same principle applies in the business world. After all, business is a game! As a business owner you are constantly faced with tough choices, often more than one at a time. So, much like a top athlete, you must have composure to thrive, and win the game!

Knowing that you must stay and act composed, the question remains- from where does composure come? John Eales, a former World Cup winning Australian rugby captain and the most successful captain in the history of Australian rugby, who is now a successful entrepreneur, claims that it comes from having three levels of faith; Faith in yourself, faith in others, and faith in your systems. Having faith keeps you optimistic and your focus on your desired outcome.

Having those three levels of faith in mind, think about which needs the most improvement. In everything you do, in and out of business, think about these three principles and how they apply. This small reminder should put any situation you’re in into perspective. The three calming ideas will help you to remain composed even when making the most difficult decision.

Enjoy these mantras and see how you can use them to stay composed in your life and your business.
